Themes for the N800?
I need to know why there is a serious lack of themes for the Nokia N800. It’s obviously MEANT to be themed, as there is a really easy theme selection menu, pre-populated with 4 themes. The problem with these themes is that they’re essentially just color variations. There’s no design element to them at all. I want more.
Perhaps I’m spoiled by the S60 community. There are TONS of killer themes out there, mostly for free, and some REALLY good ones that are worth paying a small penny for. Granted, S60 has icons and whatnot to theme, while the N800 truly only has this bar on the top and left sides of it, but there’s so much that could be done with this bar. Not only design, but size of the icons, locations of the icons, the Status Bar, etc., could all be changed.
I for one, would like some texture themes. Why not a real classy leather look? Or woodgrain, a la the S-series concept phone? Or brushed steel? Why is there not a theme repository? Why isn’t there a section of the InternetTabletTalk.com for Themes? The only themes I have found are a Windows Vista theme and this website with, again, several color variations (though these work on the layout a bit, too).
