Walkthrough of UKMP for N800
Since I’ve been using my N800 Internet Tablet for more media-related tasks, I’ve found UKMP, a new media player by InternetTabletTalk.com member “Kontorri”. He’s added kinetic scrolling (like that one phone) and album browsing for a fun experience.
Also included in the install is UKTube, which allows you to watch and download YouTube videos on your N800. Using UKTube instead of the browser allows for smoother playback, and also lets you save these videos for later.
You can get more information here on UKMP and UKTube, as well as what to install to get yourself going.

Uktube and pidgin are probably one of the best apps for N800.
When selecting a particular YouTube video, DON’T make it start playing on the YouTube page. Just hold the stylus on the video’s title (same as right click), and then select Copy Link Location from the menu. Pull up the UKTube page and click on the Paste Link tab. The video is now ready to download quickly through the UKTube program and then starts playing fullscreen and stutter free.
You’ve done a dis-service to Konttori by being ill prepared before taping your vlog.
Heathkit - I’m very aware of how UKTube is supposed to work. In my experience, following the steps that you described cause the player to crash. I don’t think that I’ve done him any disservice. It’s better for a developer to know what issues people are facing when using their applications, so they can continue to improve.
