New N800 Firmware Update

Dsc02029
Jonathan Greene of the Maemoapps.com blog posted on Jaiku this morning that there is an update to the N800 Internet Tablet available, so I had to go exploring to check it out. First off, Nokia, you need to make it easier to find out if there’s an update. Push a notification to the Tableteer or something. It’s a pain to hear about it via the grapevine and have to google it. **Update** Nevermind, it’s on Tableteer. Great job, Nokia. Kudos.

Anyways, turns out the update is simply a small bugfix for those using SDHC cards in their N800 tablets. According to this, the new update is v4.2007.38-2 and the only thing it fixes is a bug that caused data corruption when moving files between an SDHC card and the internal memory of the N800. No other changes were made.

If you’re not using an SDHC, then I wouldn’t worry about this one, to be honest. But if you are, you can click here to get download and install intructions.
