Jablet.net - All-In-One IM On Your Tablet
One of the best uses for the Internet Tablets is instant messaging. Such a small device, it’s great to be able to take my chats around the house. However, out of the box the Tablet only supports Gtalk and Jabber, meaning that all of my MSN, AOL, and Yahoo! contacts were left in the cold. Sure, there’s Pidgin, but I was never really satisfied with that, and it’s just another app to have open all the time. Enter Jablet.net.
Jablet is a project from Zerojay and Texrat from the InternetTabletTalk forums that focuses on using the built-in Jabber functionality in your Internet Tablet for instant messaging. It’s super easy to setup an account, and then using Psi on your desktop (which I’ve started using full-time, anyways) you can easily setup your MSN, AOL, and Yahoo! accounts. This way, you can use the built-in messaging on your Internet Tablet to chat with ALL your IM buddies!
You can get yourself setup over at the Jablet.net forum, and get into the forums if you have any feedback or future suggestions. The Jablet team is looking for ways to really give back to the Tablet community, and I think it’s awesome. The whole setup process takes you maybe 5 minutes, and doesn’t require adding any repositories on your Internet Tablet.
