Canola2 Beta Available On December 12th

The Canola team have put up a teaser site for the upcoming Canola2 beta for Internet Tablets. If you’re not familiar with it, Canola is an extremely graphical and user-friendly media center interface for the Nokia Internet Tablet. Using large icons and lots of transition animations, Canola2 beta is a big step towards moving the Tablet closer to the consumer end of the spectrum.
The teaser site features a short demo covering music, pictures, and videos. The new launch screen features a set of five large icons on a green background. The settings are no longer web-based, they’re not right in the application, making it alot easier to tweak Canola2 beta to your preferences.
At the end of the demo, you’ll see the picture above, which clearly shows Canola2 beta running on the 770, N800, and N810, meaning that they’re not leaving anybody out.
The teaser site says there is 10 days to launch, and today being December 2nd, that means that it should be officially available on December 12th, which happens to be the day after my birthday. Happy Birthday Guru!
Be sure to check back on Tablet-Guru as I’ll be bringing a full out review and walkthrough of Canola2 beta running on my Nokia N800 with OS2008.

Just a note. It appears Canola2’s release date has slipped.
