Thoughtfix over at Tabletblog.com has posted the notification that OS2008 has received an update, and they’ve also put out an OS2008 Hacker Edition, for brave souls sporting the 770 Internet Tablet still. The new version of OS2008 is 51.3 and is ONLY necessary if you’re experiencing issues with powering the device on and off. There are no other bug fixes or features changed, so if you’re not having booting issues, don’t bother.

The OS2008 Hacker Edition for the 770 Internet Tablet can be downloaded here and offers a method for you to give it a run on your older hardware. However, I’ll echo Thoughtfix in saying that an N800 can be had easily for under $200-250 nowadays. If you’ve held onto your 770 this long, you may as well invest in something a bit more up-to-date.
